What if my dog bites or is uncooperative?
We regret to say that we are unable to groom dog that bites as it can be very risky while doing the grooming, the dog or groomer may get hurt in the process. Our groomer will try their best to groom dog that are fearful or uncooperative, in any case if grooming can’t be started or completed, we will only charge for transport and what our groomer has done.
How long does a grooming session take?
Approximately 1-2 hours per dog.
How often should I have my dog professionally groomed?
A short-haired Dog may only need a full grooming a few times per year, but a pet with medium or long hair, that needs to be regularly trimmed, will need a grooming every 4 to 8 weeks.
To reduce shedding of your Dog, we recommend setting up a maintenance grooming schedule of at least every 4 to 8 weeks.
With regular grooming, your dog's coat will stay in good shape, shedding is reduced, fleas and ticks and other external health problems can be better controlled and your dog will just look and feel better.

When is the best time to introduce my puppy to grooming?

How much notice should I give you if I want my dog groomed?
All animals, at the start of their lives, go through a 'sensitive development period'. During this time they encounter the world for the first time and learn to accept what they find. Any experiences during that time will become part of its natural order of things. After that age, unfamiliar objects and experiences can become a source of stress to them. In some instances the stress of certain situations can cause the animal to become extremely fearful and this can sometimes manifest into forms of aggression. Therefore, We suggest your puppy is introduced to Mobile Dog Grooming at an early age. Once your puppy has had its vaccinations you may book an appointment with us. This is where your puppy leave us having had a positive grooming experience.
How often should I have my dog's nails trimmed?
If your dog is regularly walked on cement sidewalks or pavement, nail trimming may not even be a requirement. The pavement will often file the nails for you. Be sure to check the nails once in a while so you know if the pavement is filling them down adequately.
For dogs who are not walked on pavement, nails should be trimmed every 3 to 6 weeks.
If its left to grow, they will begin to twist the toes making walking uncomfortable, even painful.

We only require towels to dry your dog. If you have any dog shampoo that you want us to use, please kindly let our groomer know.
Why is my dog so itchy after grooming?
Some dogs itch just as some people do after they have shaved their legs or “other” areas. Another reason may be that the dog was severely pelted (matted to the skin solid) and the groomer had to use a very short blade to get under that matting to be able to lift it away from the skin.
Why is it important to have my dog's teeth cleaned?
Dental disease is a HUGE deal.
Periodontal (gum) disease is the number one diagnosed problem in dogs.
Periodontal disease is defined as the destruction of tooth attachment (periodontal ligament and jaw bone), caused by bacteria.
Routine cleaning helps prevent periodontal disease.

What are anal glands and why do you “express” them?
Anal glands are sacs located just below a dog’s tail that collect a fluid from the animal’s body. Historically, the excretion of bulky feces pressed against the anal sac during defecation and resulted in a natural squeezing out of the waste liquid during elimination. However with more complete absorption of modern pet foods and correspondingly smaller stools, the anal sac is often not pressed during bowel movements and so periodically needs assistance from humans to “express” or squeeze the over-full sac to remove this fluid. This is an especially putrid liquid so we recommend leaving this task to the groomer, or in severe cases, to your veterinarian.
Why does my dog shake his head after grooming?
As part of the grooming process we clean the ears and pluck hair from the ear opening (unless the owner asks us not to do so) to allow air to flow more freely into the ear to keep it dry. After cleaning and removal of the ear hair, the dog sometimes has a tickling sensation and shaking his head is the dog’s way of responding to the tickle.
What is a mat? How do I prevent it?
Mat is a tangle of hair or fur that can be found anywhere on a dog that has not been brushed or combed regularly.
The matting process is speeded up when the dog gets wet from a bath or being out in the elements and is allowed to air dry without being brushed.
A dog should be fully brushed and combed prior to and after any bath or circumstance where the dog could get wet at all. A long-haired dog should also be hand dried while being brushed or combed after getting wet, to reduce the possibility of matting.

What is tick?
Ticks are parasitic arthropods that feed on the blood of their hosts. They can cause a variety of medical problems for your dog. In large numbers, ticks can cause dangerous amounts of blood loss, especially in young dogs. An effective tick control program is essential to your dog's good health, and always involves treating both the environment and the dog.
